what to charge per square foot for final cleaning of new homes?
The clean up would include windows, dusting, bathrooms, trash removal,vacuuming,mopping,basement sweeping,garage debris removal. The price per square foot would be based on new homes built in Northwest Ohio.

A brand new home will have some kind of warranty on appliances (if included) , heating & air systems, water heater, possibly wiring, etc…

its unrealistic to think that you can fix this all in the short period of time like June. This is something your going to have to work on over the next couple years. The money you make from E-Bay I'm guessing you dont report the full earnings on your taxes. So its going to be extremely hard to prove your income. If you were reporting everthing that you earn from Ebay and not claiming a single expense, then you would be at 36K/yr income. If you have no other debt that would qualify you for about a 90K home purchase putting at least 5% down. Your going to need to up your income or get a full time w2 based job where you can document through paystubs and income. I know its not what you wanted to hear but its the truth.

Something like that happened to my mom. You need to get a lawyer and if possible get power of attorney. Once the contractor knew he had to go through me to get any money he stopped coming around to "repair things". I would try to get some of the money back if your mom was scammed by this guy. Get a lawyer to see what you can do.

Buy the one in the culdesac. The rooms may be smaller, but when you decide to move you will be able to sell something in a culdesac much quicker and easier than by a highway.

Chances are when you get older and start a family/get married/whatever, you will move on to buy a different house, so look at it more as which one is easier to sell. Make sure you have your own agent, and do not use the agent who is selling the house because it is their job to get the most money possible for their client who is selling the house. Ask your agent which one he would be able to sell easier. You sound like you are pretty good with your money, so do yourself a favor, and don't give the seller whatever they ask for. Negotiate down. In this market you can possibly get the 140,000 house for like 110,000. It doesn't hurt to ask, and if you are willing to pay up to the asking price all you lose is a little time.

Wow, I admire your patience, and loyalty to your parents. What a man (?) of integrity! I don't own my own home, but feel you should be instantly impressed by the house you will own. It should excite you, and be as close as possible to what you want. Is a backyard important or BBQ's and future kids? Do you need lots of storage? Is locality important for commuting to work? I feel, and maybe this is just a woman thing, that part of you should "fall in love" with your future home. It is a major purchase!!! You have already been patient, maybe a little bit longer to truly find the RIGHT house, and not be hasty because of your situation. A house payment is a huge commitment to have for a house you just happened to settle for. If you really need some peace and space could you not rent a room somewhere for a bit?
Store your belongings in a storage center, and free yourself from having to rush into a decision.
I know I don't you, but from your question you seem to have a strong, honorable character.Some one who has worked hard to own a little piece of his own paradise (no mooching parents). I truly hope things work out for you, all that hard work, and wisdom deserves the desires of your heart!!!

Without a doubt paying cash (and NO interest) will save you more money. Even in your tax bracket the mortgage interest savings isn't much. Consider that you and your wife would get the standard deduction for a couple ($10,500) and only interest above and beyond that saves you any tax money. Even then it would save you about $0.30-$0.35 for every dollar you spend on interest… A dumb way to save…

Again, no question that you would spend less money (or save more money) by not having a mortgage and paying no mortgage interest.
